How a Local Baker Transformed Her Hobby into a Successful Business

A recent encounter I had was with Maria Lopez, who is a self-educated baker who has made her favorite pastime, baking, into a successful enterprise, Sweet Beginnings Bakery. Her career path started with the pandemic when she started baking as a way to relieve stress. She did not expect it to result in having a well-known bakery in downtown town. When my friends started to order cupcakes, I understood that this may be something more, Maria explained me with a smile. I began with a small venture, doing baking at home and after some time saved enough to open a small shop. Her secret weapon, according to her, is consistency and word of mouth. I do not look at how much but how good. I do everything myself and I never ignore the comments of my customers. Maria confesses that it is not an easy task to run a business. It is hard labor, drill and belief, said she. I had instances that I would want to give up, but my community supported me through.
