How I fixed my sleep schedule and started feeling human again

I used to think that staying up until 3 a.m. was just a normal part of being a college student. I'd study late, scroll through YouTube to “unwind,” and then stumble into my morning classes fueled by caffeine and sheer willpower. It seemed to work for a bit… but then it caught up with me. Before I knew it, my grades started to slip, and my mood took a nosedive. I constantly felt tired and unmotivated, even when I was doing things I usually loved. One day, it hit me: I wasn’t burnt out from school — I was just plain exhausted. That’s when I decided to shake things up and change my sleep habits. I started small by committing to go to bed before midnight for a week. The first few nights were a bit challenging, but soon enough, I found myself waking up with more energy and focus. My mornings shifted from feeling like a struggle to something I actually looked forward to, and I didn’t need three cups of coffee just to feel awake! Now, I treat sleep as a vital part of my self-care routine, just as important as studying or working out. Sure, I still have the occasional late night, but I don’t let it become a regular thing anymore. If you’re reading this and feeling a bit like I did, why not try going to bed a little earlier just twice a week? You might be surprised at how much of a difference it makes!
